| "Sanctify
them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17 KJV.
Let us consider the importance of God's truth, His holy and divine word, the Bible. |
| 1. God's Truth is obtainable and available. "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." [John 8:32; John 17:17]. |
| 2. God's truth is valuable and essential to being saved: "Buy the truth and sell it not." [Proverbs 23:23], "Who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" [I Tim 2:4]. |
| 3. Not everyone loves God's truth: "they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved" [II Thessalonians 2:10]. |
| 4. Not everyone believes the truth: "Who believed not the truth" [II Thessalonians 2:12]. |
| 5. A person must not only believe the truth, the truth must be obeyed in order to be born again: "Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth" [I Peter 1:22-25]. |
|
6. After becoming a Christian one must continue to walk in the truth to please God: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth" [III John 4; II John 4]. |
| 7. After becoming a Christian it is possible to "err from the truth" [James 5:19-20; II Timothy 2:15-18]. |
| 8. We will be judged by God's truth: [John 12:48; Psalms 96:13]. |
| 9. Only by studying, believing, loving, and obeying God's truth can we be sure that we are saved [1 John 2:3-6; 3:19]. |
